The cycling community in Encinitas and North County has always been tight-knit, which makes it especially hard to see yet another local shop close its doors. Recently, Charlie’s Electric Bike announced their closure after nearly a decade of serving our community. We want to acknowledge the passion and effort they brought to the local eBike scene and thank them for their role in helping riders discover and enjoy this growing mode of transportation.

In their farewell message, Charlie’s owner reflected on the changing landscape of electric bikes and their rapid growth in popularity and usage—particularly among kids here in North County San Diego.
