Specialty12g e-bike hub motor wheel builds & full wheel rebuilds

Started riding my bike to school in third grade, but it was working as a bike courier in San Francisco — attending university and pedaling for a living — that got me hooked on the freedom and joy a bike can bring. The more time I spent on a bike, the more I learned about wrenching on one. First mechanic gig was volunteering at the SF Bike Kitchen back in 2007/2008. Almost twenty years later, I'm still at it.

"Preventative maintenance. And clean your bike. The two things every owner should do — and almost nobody does."

What I ride
At least one of everything — sometimes more. My favorites are my steel road bikes.
Local go-to
Coast Highway, Oceanside Harbor up to the top of Torrey Pines and back.
Best ride ever
Big Sur — Highway 1 from Carmel-by-the-Sea down to Hearst Castle.
Dream ride
Japan — Lake Okutama.
Most satisfying fix
Complex e-bike electrical issues nobody else will touch.
Post-ride fuel
Beer.
One word from the crew
Patient.

SpecialtyCustom wheel builds + rebuilding shocks & forks no one else will touch

Grew up racing bikes. Eventually that led to wrenching on them. There are cyclists out there riding custom wheelsets I built — my signature is on the inside. I've also rebuilt suspension that other shops turned away. I don't just repair. I re-design, improve, and upgrade.

"Don't cheap out. There is nothing more expensive than a cheap purchase. That goes for any machine, any commodity — bikes especially."

What I ride
S-Works Tarmac SL7 and Wilier Cento 1 SR.
Local go-to
Melrose Ave. and the Stud Loop / Rancho San Diego backroads.
Best ride ever
The Swiss Alps — though I'll defend the Great Western Loop too.
Dream ride
Monterey, CA. Fresh air, coastal fog, weeping willows.
Favorite component
CeramicSpeed bearings. Best money can buy.
Hot take
FSA's compression plug design is criminally dangerous.
Walk-up song
Darude — "Sandstorm."
One word from the crew
Insane.

SpecialtyBringing squishy brakes back to life

I've been riding since I could walk, thanks to my dad. Anything with two wheels — motorcycles not excluded. He was a big inspiration to me, always pushing no matter the ride. Since his passing a few years ago, I try to bring that same passion and intensity any time I hop on a bike. Any bike.

"Clean your bike. When you spend time cleaning your bike, you end up seeing issues that you would otherwise not see until they're a much bigger problem."

What I ride
Yeti SB150 mostly — plus time on the gravel, road, and dirt jumper bikes.
Discipline ranking
Mountain > Gravel > Road > e-bike.
Local go-to
NASCAR trail at the La Costa preserve. Loose chunk forever.
Best ride ever
Montaña de Oro in Los Osos — miles of descending that ends on the beach.
Dream ride
Anywhere near SLO.
Off the clock
Riding, or shooting photos for local bike brands and races.
Post-ride fuel
A burrito. Always a burrito.
Walk-up song
"I'm a Believer" — Smash Mouth.
